DEVILS GRIND OUT WIN IN OLYMPIA

It was a struggle most of the night, but the LCC Red Devil women's basketball team avoided an upset and defeated South Puget Sound 55-48 on Wednesday January 29th.

Tied 24-24 at the half, the Devils outscored the Clippers 31-24 in the second half. It was a tough shooting night for the Devils as they were just 19 for 76 from the floor (25%). LCC hit just 9 of 42 three-point attempts.

Kaylea Knox led LCC with 13 points. Haley Hibbs had 12 points and seven rebounds. Arinesha Smith scored just four points, but collected nine rebounds and four assists from her point guard position. Donniesha Webber had seven points and eight rebounds.

The Devils are alone in second place in the West with an 8-1 record, 15-5 overall. Third place Highline comes to Longview Saturday afternoon in a key showdown. Game time is set for 1 pm at the Mark Morris Gymnasium. The game can be heard live on the internet on klog.com.
