Despite 24 turnovers, the Lower Columbia women's basketball team came away with a solid 85-63 victory at Centralia Wednesday January 22nd.

To offset the miscues, the Devils shot 48% from the floor and outrebounded the Blazers 48-29.

Sophomore point guard Arinesha Smith led the way with 18 points on 6 for 8 shooting. Kaylea Knox came off the bench for 18 points, including three well-timed three's that help squash a Blazer second half rally.

LCC was up 44-25 at the half, but Centralia went on a run to get within five. The Devils then regained their stranglehold and coasted to the win.

Christian Carlson and Sierra Richards added 13 points each. Haley VandenHazel made here season debut with just over six minutes of playing time. The sophomore from Tumwater had two points and four rebounds.

The Devils are now 6-1 in the West Region and return to league play Saturday afternoon at 5 pm. The game will be played at the Mark Morris Gymnasium in Longview. The game can be heard on the internet at klog.com.
