The Red Devils took on Umpqua in a five-set match at Clark College in Vancouver on Tuesday September 17th. It came right down to the wire, but the Riverhawks won the deciding set to take the match 3-2.
Mckenna Hoyt had 14 kills and 3 blocks to lead the way.
Jessica Fischer had a solid match with 36 assists and 13 digs.
Shaina Gustafson had 11 kils and 15 digs.
Morgan Godinho had 29 digs. LCC was playing without libero
Marnee Clancy and defensive specialist
Bailey Mckee.
The close loss puts the Devils at 0-9 on the season. The team has shown improvement and are hoping to gain more experience this weekend at the Walla Walla tournament. The Devils will finally get to play in front of the home fans Wednesday September 25th when they open West Region play against Green River. The 7 pm match will be held at the Mark Morris Gymnasium.
