DEVILS DROP A CLOSE ONE IN ROSEBURG
The LCC women's basketball team took the show on the road Saturday, December 14th. An overall good performance did not lead to a win, as Umpqua hit the shots late to beat the Devils 79-72.
LCC had good looks in the final two minutes, but the shots wouldn't fall.
Christian Carlson led a balanced scoring attack with 14 points,
Donniesha Webber had 13 points,
Haley Hibbs scored 12 points and pulled down 9 rebounds and
Kaylea Knox added 11 points.
The Devils shot 32 percent against a good team in a tough environment. Head Coach
Chad Meadors was disapointed with the loss, but not with the effort. "It came down to the final two minutes and we couldn't get the shots to fall. Give Umpqua credit, they hit the shots and free throws to get it done at home."
LCC will take a week off from play and get back into action at the Bellevue Crossover beginning Friday December 20th.
