DEVILS ELIMINATED AT NWAACC's
The 2013 season came to and end for the LCC volleyball season on Friday November 22nd.
In a loser out match, the Linn Benton Road Runners defeated LCC 25-20 and 25-11. The Devils weren't able to recapture the energy that led to a 3-1 upset of Spokane in the tourney's opening round on Thursday.
Linn Benton has a tall front line that hurt the Devils with 27 kills. Leading LCC was
Mckenna Hoyt and
Amanda Schwegler with four kills each.
Jessica Fischer had nine assists and seven digs.
The Devils ended the season with a 14-24 record after an 0-9 start. The team continued to get better under first year head coach
Carri Smith and came into the tourney as the third seed in the West. The Devils opened some eyes with the win over Spokane and the future is bright.
The Devils must find talent to replace Fischer, Hoyt,
Chelsea Macumber,
Morgan Godinho and departing freshman Schwegler. With talent returning and recruiting going well, the Devils expect to return next year with a better chance to make a deeper run in the tournament.
