Coach Carri Smith liked her teams fight in the Green River Crossover
DEVILS FIGHT BACK AT GREEN RIVER TOURNEY
Instead of hanging their heads after some tough losses at the Green River Crossover, The Red Devil battled back and took the consolation championship on Saturday October 19th.
LCC defeated Everett 25-16, 27-25 in the consolation bracket final. The Devils got to that point with a consolation semi-final victory over Big Bend 25-21, 25-12.
Lower Columbia opened up bracket play Saturday with a tough five set loss to Shoreline 26-24, 25-20, 19-25 24-26 and 16-14.
The Devils were 1-2 in Friday's pool play competition.
It's the second consolation trophy that LCC has earned this season. The Devils completed a similar path in the Walla Walla tourney last month.
The Devils hit the road to start the second run through West Region play. It's back to Auburn for a league match with Green River Wednesday night at 7 pm.
Friday is ASLCC Spirit Night as the Devils host the Pierce Raiders in a 7 pm match at the Mark Morris HS Gym. There will be free pizza and foam fingers, and a T-shirt will be thrown into the crowd for each kill the Devils earn.
