Riley coached baseball and basketball at LCC from 1969 to 1972 before he left to begin a legendary career as baseball coach at Oregon State University. At LCC, Riley led the Red Devil baseball team to division titles all four years, including The schools first conference championship in 1970. He also coached the LCC basketball team to State tournament berths in 1971 and 1972. At OSU, Riley was named the Pac-10 North Coach of the Year 4 times and posted 17 winning seasons before retiring at the end of 1995.
