Lower Columbia College Athletics

Deanne Nelson was one of the first female stars to excel in two sports at LCC. As a basketball player, Nelson was a two-time MVP and twice named All-League. She was also a two-time MVP on the LCC volleyball team. She went on to play basketball at Eastern Washington University. Deanne then served as head volleyball coach at LCC. She then had basektball coaching stints at Gonzaga and Boise State. Nelson returned once again and was head coach for the Red Devil basektball team in 1993.
